As a franchise, Persona is an emotionally significant game for so many. What does this character mean to you?
More than why do you want to write as them, but why are they special to you?
Futaba is hope. I can see a lot of myself in her. I have social anxiety, not as severe as hers but still enough that it makes it hard to breathe in large crowds. I think I probably also have ADHD but as of right now, it's undiagnosed but everything I read explained a lot about myself. I feel like I have to work hard to overcome my issues and there was a time in my life where I felt trapped in my house. But Futaba is willing to slowly work through her issues and improve and overcome them. To me, that feels like hope for myself, that I can overcome my own issues as well.
If there was something you could change about your character in-game,
What would it be and why?
I wouldn't change a thing. I love Futaba the way she is. She's so much more than being just that weird and quirky girl. She's damaged and slowly piecing herself back together after years of blaming herself. She's a lot of fun.
-------------------------
The tapping of the keys was a constant noise within the four walls of her room, even over the sound of music drifting through her headphones. She was really just aimlessly browsing the internet, looking for something that would entertain her for a few more hours. She'd already caught up on all the anime she was watching, and playing games with idle clicks.
Her phone dinged with a notification and she swiveled slightly to grasp it. "Hm, stamina refilled, huh? I don't feel like playing it right now though..." she pursed her lips as she slid it aside.
There was always the temptation to venture outside, to risk a trip to Akihabara, but the thought of all those people out there made her skin crawl. Grimacing, she unlocked her phone, greeted by the sight of her current favorite anime character. Well, it'd change probably when the new season of anime started in a few days but until then. Pulling up her contacts, she debated calling Sojiro for food, but ultimately decided to leave the confines of her room herself.
She was hungry, but didn't really know what she wanted. Before she could even make it two steps away from her door, her phone dinged again--this time from the phantom thief group chat. A smile tugged at her lips as she read it. An invitation to get together for food huh? What perfect timing.
"Count me in," she nodded as she typed. "Meet up at LeBlanc...? Mm, yeah I can manage that, sounds good! Ah, I should let Sojiro know I'm gonna leave..."
At the very least, LeBlanc was close enough to the house that even if she felt jittery being outside, she could at least quickly retreat into the safety of the cafe where there would be much less people and more familiar faces. Still, she hurried along, not wanting to get caught in a crowd on her own.
